While well established, they had fierce competition in the local area, especially with larger multi-national companies. At the same time, they were struggling to get reviews, with less than 80 reviews on their Google Business Profile. Overall, the business faced major challenges when it came to gaining a competitive edge in the local area.
The client approached us at Genie Crawl to improve their organic website traffic, generating leads, and gaining a competitive edge over the larger multi-national companies. The competitors were established with high website traffic, optimised Google Business Profiles, and more reviews. At the same time, our client was not ranking well on Google for service keywords, nor were they appearing in local map packs. They had minimal visibility in local searches, making it almost impossible to attract the right potential customers. The clients website welcomed less than 100 visitors monthly.
Our focus was on local search engine optimisation (SEO) to help the client gain the competitive edge they needed. Through comprehensive competitor analysis and keyword research, we were able to identify gaps in the competitors strategies. Our team carried out extensive on-page optimisation across the clients website, creating a responsive design to align with mobile-first indexing, and structuring the site using schema markup. Our next focus was to improve user experience across the website, reducing bounce rates, while guiding visitors to completing the contact forms. We improved the clients back link profile, acquiring local back links to further boost visibility and trustworthiness. We paid very close attention to the clients Google Business Profile, updating the business description, adding high quality images, and encouraging customers to leave reviews, with regular updates.
This project started just shy of six months ago, and we are already seeing excellent strides to gaining a competitive edge, as monthly organic traffic has grown to close to five hundred visitors a month, along with appearing in local search result, boosting local visibility considerably. In addition to this, the client has seen a significant increase in leads from the website, with more form submissions than in the past. Our client has also confirmed that where he was only getting around 7 calls a month, he is now getting close to 40 calls per month, on average. We have also increased the reviews our client received on Google Business Profile to over 140 reviews, strengthening their local SEO presence.
