With competitive pricing and superior customer service, with an expert travel team, they were not reaching their audience online. The company partnered with Genie Crawl to implement a mobile SEO strategy to improve search rankings in a competitive market.
The client was concerned that they had SEO carried out before with no improvements. Being very sceptical, they approached our first consultation with hesitation. Chatting to our sales manager, the client soon realised that we knew what to do, along with the fact we were not trying to tie him into a long-term and expensive contract. We agreed, the focus would be on improving the agency's search ranking, boosting visibility, engagement, and generating leads.
Our approach was to create a bespoke mobile SEO strategy for our travel agency client. This involved optimising page speeds, implementing a responsive design, and structuring mobile content. We also implemented a mobile-friendly booking engine that was simple and intuitive to improve conversions. Our strategy also included implementing schema markup to improve rankings, along with optimising for voice search. In order to a travel agency website to rank well, it needs to be technically sound. For this, we used accelerated mobile pages to speed up loading, along with creating a mobile XML Sitemap that was submitted to Google Search Console. We created a Robots.txt file, while ensuring there was no mobile usability issues in Google Search Console. The final step was to implement canonical tags to avoid the risk of duplicate content between desktop and mobile.
Taking into account that mobile SEO is not an overnight success, we were happy to see that our efforts started paying off relatively quickly. Taking a mobile-first indexing approach helped our travel agency client improve their search rankings for key travel keywords. Using a mix of short-tail and long-tail keywords, we were able to improve their ranking, helping them reach their target audience and drive them to their website. With more travellers searching on the go, implementing mobile SEO was imperative to helping our clients reach their audience through improved search rankings.
